The Journey

ZOZO pays homage to influential chefs who have left a mark on Sedlar’s career, particularly legendary French Chef Jean Bertranou of L’Ermitage, who infused the French spirit into Los Angeles kitchens, and the matriarch of Modern Mexican cuisine, Chef Patricia Quintana. These culinary trailblazers now serve as the spirits guiding the ZOZO at Maison Midi kitchen.

Sedlar’s menu pays tribute to Jean Bertranou’s Nouvelle Cuisine principles, learned during his early years as a young chef at L’Ermitage. Incorporating these techniques into the menu’s style, guests can expect a culinary journey enriched by the French influence of Jean Bertranou, the Mexican influence of Chef Patricia Quintana, and the “Convivial French cuisine” of Raphael Francois. John Sedlar introduces his favorite offerings and ingredients from the Santa Fe Table, creating a harmonious blend of flavors.

On the façade at ZOZO at Maison Midi, guests are welcomed by murals featuring Jean Bertranou, Patricia Quintana, and vibrant red poppies, paying homage to the renowned American artist, Georgia O’Keeffe. John Sedlar’s childhood connection with O’Keeffe, through his great aunt serving as her personal chef, adds a personal touch. Anticipate appetizers featuring poppy petals with caviar, offering a unique and delightful start to the ZOZO experience.
